
BIO
Sage Simpson (b. 2000, Albuquerque, New Mexico) is an interdisciplinary performer and designer, focusing on Lighting Design and Choreography through dance and film editing. Sage has contributes to numerous public-facing performances; she has danced and choreographed at Keshet Dance Company, assists at UNM, and has designed Senior Thesis and Faculty Choreography in modern, flamenco and hip-hop. Sage has also done spot op work for The Opera Southwest at The National Hispanic Cultural Center and The National Institute of Flamenco. In addition to her contributions to live performance, she uses post production software to reflect, crop, and layer video recordings of choreographed body movements to create unique experimental dance videos.
During her free time, Sage takes classes at Black Widow Pole Studio and at Studio Sway. She also works as a stagehand for Popejoy Hall, a major performing arts center in New Mexico. Sage has an undergraduate degree at the University of New Mexico a BAIA with a focus in Lighting Design and Modern Dance.
